Mavericks is a western dance society that embodies a philosophy grounded in self-belief, confidence and the willingness to embrace challenges. It functions as a platform for continuous learning, personal growth and creative expression. Driven by music, art and hip-hop culture, the society enables students to explore rhythm, movement and performance.

Established as the Western Dance Society of BPIT, Mavericks has evolved into a dynamic and integral component of the institution’s cultural ecosystem. The society brings students together through the universal language of dance, nurturing passion, creativity and collaboration within a vibrant and inclusive environment that enhances campus life. The society remains committed to inspiring and engaging students while cultivating a deeper appreciation for the art of dance.

Vision

The vision of the Dance Society is to serve as a dynamic and inclusive platform where passion for dance converges with creativity and community. The society aims to foster a culture that values artistic expression, diversity, and collaboration. Through regular rehearsals, workshops, and performances, it seeks to cultivate not only strong dance skills but also personal growth and confidence among its members.

Mission

Promoting Cultural Expression: To provide a platform for students to express themselves through various dance forms, celebrating the rich cultural diversity within the college community.

❖ Physical Fitness and Well-being: To encourage a healthy lifestyle by recognising the physical benefits of dance and promoting fitness and overall well-being.

❖ Performance Opportunities: To provide opportunities for students to showcase their talent through performances, competitions and events, thereby building stage confidence and experience.

❖ Collaboration and Teamwork: To foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration by enabling students to work together, learn from one another and create impactful dance performances.

❖ Stress Relief and Recreation: To offer an outlet for stress relief and recreation, allowing students to unwind, relax, and take a break from academic pressures through dance.

  • Mavericks achieved first position in the Western Group Dance Competition (Taal Se Taal Mila) at ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, held on 26th February 2026.
  • Shivam Behera bagged first position in the Online Dance Challenge (Solo Category) organised by BrokeBro.
  •  The team achieved second position in the Western Group Dance Competition at Sirifort Institute of Management Studies, Rohini, held on 28th April 2025.
  •  The group secured first position in the Group Dance Competition (Western Dance Category) at UPES, Dehradun, held on 18th April 2025.
