Avaran, the Dramatics Society of BPIT, undertakes activities such as street play performances, the creation of short films, and the dissemination of awareness on contemporary social issues. Over the years, numerous street plays have been performed on a wide range of themes, ranging from critical issues such as personal insecurities and ways to address them to the broader concept of humanity, which has increasingly become superficial in the modern world. Street plays have also addressed the theme of half-knowledge and its potential to cause harm to individuals and society at large. In addition, several short films have been produced and made available on YouTube, focusing on topics such as the generation gap, women’s safety in metropolitan cities like Delhi, depression and other mental health issues, and caste-based discrimination.

Avaran is committed to creating impactful theatrical experiences through street play performances that highlight significant social issues often overlooked by society. The collective strives to grow together through mutual support and collaboration, channelling its passion for theatre to bring about positive social change. With a foundation rooted in passion, integrity and dedication, Avaran seeks to use theatre as a medium to enlighten, engage and empower the masses.
